Meet the Teacher
Hi! I’m Maria McNeal, a certified kids' yoga teacher and certified meditation and mindfulness teacher, passionate about helping others to live a balanced, joyful, and mindful life. I have ten years of experience as a primary elementary teacher and am a mom to my own little budding yogi. My approach to kids' yoga is fun and engaging, with a focus on social emotional learning through storytelling. I believe kids' yoga to be a powerful tool in fostering self-regulation skills, confidence, and character skills, while also improving balance and coordination, building healthy muscles, and encouraging body awareness.
Early Elementary Summer Yoga Class
Ages 5, 6, 7, or 8
Tuesdays, 9:30-10:30 am

Location: The Kids Creative Space12045 Johnson Drive Shawnee, KS
Description: Early elementary yoga is independent of caregivers. In this class we will explore yoga poses and character skills through storytelling, we’ll practice relaxation and self-regulation techniques through various mindfulness activities, and we will learn social emotional skills through mindfulness games and exercises. Most importantly, we will have fun! Children will be encouraged to listen to their bodies and to go at their own pace.
